The Koi fish approached the monk one day. “I have a question for you” said the Koi.
The monk waited patiently for the Koi fish to ask his question.
“Why do you close your eyes?”
The monk smiled with his eyes gently closed. “It allows me to be with myself and shut out the noise around me. Then, I hear the grass grow and the flowers bloom. And I hear your voice Koi”
“And what happens when you open your eyes?” The Koi persisted.
“When my eyes are open, time slows down and I can still hear the grass grow and the flowers bloom. And I will still hear your voice Koi”
The Koi fish smiled and swam away.
