Decided to try my hand at Arabic calligraphy. The forms are exquisite and flow so smoothly. Wish I could read and know if I am writing the right things. For now enjoying the meditative flow of just writing and seeing forms come alive.
Sketching in the rain
We were at sentosa, Singapore to watch the dolphin show. Suddenly the sky turned grey and heavy rains ensued. Lightning and thunder followed and after an hour of waiting, they called off the show for safety reasons. I pulled out my sketchbook and tried to capture the moment. The rains, the wind and the Dolphins... Continue Reading →
Sketches in a Singapore coffee shop
While Travelling to Singapore, I did a few sketches at a Starbucks on orchard street. It was midnight and raining outside. While I was sketching people around me, I suddenly realised that on each table sat groups of friends busy with their phones. They were hanging out but not conversing or acknowledging each other. Smiling... Continue Reading →

Handlettering consumes my sketchbook
I have been having a blast exploring while attempting to learn hand lettering. Meanwhile, the monk has also been making guest appearances in a few pages and Rumi stays the flavor of the season. Note to self: get more colors than just Blues in the pages. 🙂

One of my favourite poems: Come to the edge
This poem by Christopher Logue is one of my all time favourites. Its speaks on so many layers and is a great analogy on getting out of our comfort zone, to do things we thought impossible before and to take wings. How often have we stood by on the edge and not taking action with... Continue Reading →
What mediation is. A typographic exploration.
Here's a pic of my sketchbook where I sketched my interpretation of mediation. The central thought was about the art of thinking nothing and letting the mind become an empty bowl. It's only then that we find ourselves with complete clarity.

The magic of travel
You never know when you could find that moment, in the middle of a long flight, at a quaint coffee shop, standing in a vast field of flowers, sitting silently by a giggling brook, watching a sunset over the sea or walking through the clouds. Suddenly, clarity sifts through and you have that epiphany, a... Continue Reading →

The journey. A poem on unravelling spirituality.
This is a poem on the journey of spirituality. The quest for the spiritual man is to return to the purest form of an infant who we are born as. As life goes by, the scars of experience and the scab of the world erodes that angelic innocence. How do we bring up our kids... Continue Reading →

One of the most inspiring manifestos ever! The magic of Bruce Mau’s words
A friend of mine handed me a copy of Bruce Mau's incomplete manifesto for growth 15 years ago. These words have probably had the biggest influence on how I built the organisation and its philosophy. I wanted to share this with anyone who hasn't read it yet. An incomplete manifesto for growth 1. Allow events... Continue Reading →

A beautiful story about karma
I love stories that expound the philosophy of Karma, stories that embody the spirit of "what goes around comes around". Even better when it happens instantly or within our lifetime. The landlord for our older Mumbai office was a wonderful human being and had an aura of goodness surrounding him. On one of my... Continue Reading →
